With the Holiday just around the corner, many of our Corvette and Camaro engineers will get a well-deserved break. Yet many will relax only to find visions of pistons thumping and engines rumbling on their minds. Nowhere is this truer than inside the Chevrolet Performance team where engineers design parts and accessories to turn already capable GM vehicles into forces to be reckoned with. We have a feeling they are not alone and there other “gearheads” out there who have the same ambitions for their cars and trucks.
At SEMA 2012, this year the Chevrolet Performance team released a new parts catalog showcasing new performance parts, engines, and accessories available to surprise and delight any Santa interested in tuning up his sleigh. To help show off some of the parts available in the new catalog, we had Jamie Meyer, Chevrolet performance marketing manager, create a wish lists for our Camaro owners and enthusiasts who may have been good enough to receive an extra special visit from Performance Parts Santa.
Chevrolet Camaro Performance Wish List
Customers who buy the factory equipped Camaro already show an inclination toward the faster side of life. Here are some parts from the catalogue you’ll want to on your Camaro wish list:
- Camaro 1LE Track Pack (231023311)
Looking for greater capability in curves as you dodge runaway shopping carts in parking lots during your last minute holiday shopping – or hugging curves on the track? Search no more! The Camaro 1LE Track Pack will make sure your 2010+ Camaro SS or Camaro V6 keeps you in control with all “4 on the floor” in tight turns using similar components as the 1LE performance package.
- Camaro ZL1 Brembo Front and Rear Brake Kits (22959672/22989384)
As you’re out and about dashing through the snow with all that new power, having the ability stop when you need to is important! Upgrade the front brakes on your 2010-and-later Camaro SS or V-6 model with the larger brakes from the supercharged Camaro ZL1 – including racing-style front two-piece, 14.6-inch front rotors and six-piston Brembo calipers with aluminum housings and rear 14-inch rotors paired with four-piston aluminum calipers – all with the ZL1 logo. - Camaro ZL1 HD Driveline Kit (22959394/22959395)
Because Uncle Larry is going to eat your favorite dessert first if you don’t arrive to Grandma’s on time, we know how important it is to have the “giddy up and go” when you need it. The Camaro ZL1 HD Driveline Kit will help 2010-and-later Camaros deliver the strength required to put big power to the pavement. There are kits for both manual and automatic transmissions available. - New LS3 head & LS7 cam kit (19300535)
Who needs reindeer when you can have more horsepower? Chevrolet Performance has engineered a new cylinder head and camshaft package for LS3-powered Camaros and Corvettes that pumps up the engine output an additional 40 horsepower! That’s a 9% gain over stock! - Performance Exhaust Upgrade Package
Make sure they hear you coming in style (that’s a safety feature, right?) with an upgraded look and sound from the tuned, emissions-legal bolt-on exhaust kits. Not only do these kits deliver great performance sound, they also help reduce restriction which can help increase performance – especially when paired up with other powertrain performance parts. - Exterior strip packages
Performance is not only about being fast, but also looking fast and great while you’re doing it. That’s why we have several different performance graphic packages available to add gill, heritage, rally stripes, and other decals to your Camaro.

Loved every custom Chevrolet!
This is positive news for many hot rodders!
I especially like the better braking. Also the handling package is cool.
I think it is all right that Chevrolet is going in the aftermarket performance parts. Hot rodders know this, but the average Camaro or Corvette owner might not. Installation would be a problem for the average guy, so maybe Chevrolet could give a break on the price for installing it. AND ADVERTISE!
This is awesome! But won’t the stock driveline from a 2010 Camaro be strong enough to handle 500ft. lbs of torque stock already? I guess it wouldn’t matter if all you’re doing is just the suspension and brake upgrades. But you see Hotrod and other car magazines pushing big power of the 5th generation Camaro and I don’t think they are modifying the driveline in many cases.
Why wont Chevrolet import these cars to the UK?
Love your magazine. I just was lucky enough to come across a brand new ( there were 2 of them ) 2011 Regal T!!
I’ve been reading up on Cadilacs new ATS and the Buick Verano. The Buick Verano T’s price was starting around $24,000 and the ATS Around $34,000. By the time you get what options you want the ATS rounded out to around $50,000. So that took me out of owning a Cadilac due to the high cost, at least for now. I had a very knowledgeable salesman. No pressure, just tried to get e feel of what I was looking for in a car. I was going towards the Verano mainly because it seemed to be a driver’s car. It was low had great balance and weigh ratios. Finally, Al (my salesman) had the idea of what I was looking for. I told Al that I’d ( in another reality ) owned a 2008 Volvo S 60 R and was ecstatic about it.
Since I couldn’t buy a pricey car in this new reality I’m stuck in. Just like so many other folks I know, we are just getting out of loosing our retirement to those Wall Street hedgey bastards and having our home have the rug pulled out from under us ( while we we’re standing on it). My old Employer called me with an offer I couldn’t turn down, at 58 and having trouble with the loss of my Mother this past year, just tired of the last four or five years. Where we sold our Range Rover and trading in my Awesome
Volvo S 60 R to a Honda CRX. I was a broken Man. My need for speed had been ripped away from me.
So, it seems things are on the upswing now. America was turning out the best cars in the world now. Jobs are coming back and I can get on with my passion for speed, and in an American car no less.
So, Al at Healdsberg Silveira GMC, BUICK takes me over to these two Regal T’s. One Black and one dark Grey. They we’re thought 2011′s, brand new and fully loaded. They just couldn’t turn them for some reason. Well, Lucky for me and they were made in Germany. They were asking for $35,600 though. So I lost sight of the car I had originally came in for and was joyfully shaking with excitement when Al asked those dreaded words. “Let’s go for a test drive”. As I wiped the drool from my chin, because this car is flat out Gorgeous. This Regal Turbo with 272 turbo charged ready to go Ponies, front wheel drive, 274 lbs of torque, with only four cylinders, was so fast, quick and firm on turns. ( I Live 7 miles from PCH ) So, I was really lucky to truly put this car through some heart pounding paces. This car stuck to the road like it had sticky racing tires on it as I powered into those great PCH turns. There was but the slightest Turbo lag as my head got slapped back into the seat. The driver’s seat could have had a bit more curve to hold the driver, but all in all this car has exceeded my expectations in cornering, power and all out handling. Amazing power that keeps you pushed back into comfortable seats. This car isn’t your Grandfathers Buick anymore! I don’t remember the Volvo S 60 R handling this well. I truly think this Regal T will rival the BMW 5 Series, let alone the 3 series. Even Audi should look out for this car!
I can’t imagine what the 2013 model will do? I truly got lucky to pick this car not much talked about Super Car. From what I read in the Car & Driver article, I don’t think they drove the Car long enough to get a true sense of the power and incredible handling this Regal T has to offer.
General Motors, hats off to you. You’ve hit the ticket with the Regal T.
Sincerely,
Dave Yarrish
This is totally the wrong place to put this. But I used to hang out on here a lot ” back in the day”. But something I read about yesterday is that we in the US might be getting a diesel version of the Cruze?
So now for the reason I came on here: If this is true, let me ask if we can PPPP-Please have a wagon version of the diesel Cruze as well? Why do I say this? Because there are a TON of us out there who are practically on our hands and knees begging for one. Whatever your market research might tell you, if its saying that selling a small diesel wagon wouldn’t do well, let me just say that I live in California- the country’s largest car market- and its not a joke that on any given day, if I happen to see a VW Jetta TDI on the freeway, chances are good its also a Jetta wagon.
I think I know the reason why. For a lot of us the SUV/ Crossover craze has gotten old. Many of us- myself included- have HORRIBLE, long commutes and thus good fuel economy is a must. There is a void out there in the automotive lineup and that void is the need for more SMALL, fuel efficient wagons. They are the perfect alternative. You get the best of both worlds. 1: a smaller, fuel efferent, Non-SUV car. 2: A wagon that is practical for putting stuff in for trips and vacations. 3: A diesel engine, making it fun to drive and also efficient.
As you can see, I am fairly enthusiastic about such a prospect. Yet for some reason, it would seem that as of now, only VW offers this option and without getting into details… I’m not interested in their products. At this point my small pickup truck is 17 years old. My car ( its a Prius! ahhhh!) is going on 12. We are looking for a replacement at some point. If you guys were to pull the covers off a diesel Cruze Wagon I can definitely guarantee that you would sell the snot out of these things and I would very likely very happily skip on down to the Chevy dealership and get one.
So… I realize that I’m just a lone voice in the crowd. But maybe someone there will read this. Thanks! Happy New Year!
