American Pride, what pride does GM have to take the history of the only American sports car and hire 3 out of 4 drivers are NON AMERICANs !

Yea we the Corvette owners have the American pride but surely GM has forgotten the history which includes it is us Americans who bought the Corvette models since 1953 and not your world marketing customer base.

Notice how the GM PR types always call the car a Corvette, never a Chevrolet Corvette.

Info about LeMans has very limited appeal on this blog. Even though those involved in it are real enthusiasts and rightfully proud of what they do,you should have discerned by now that more mainstream fare such as new product news, styling, new technology direction, Corporate strategic direction, reports of current product successes and response to attacts by ill-informed journalists have a much broader base of interest.

Dear Team Corvette: If there was ever a time to pick up on a new handle for the ‘Team’ this is it! With LeMans in the bag again!, it would seem if the world is dealing with a ‘juggernaut’ of uncanning strength and tenacity. I remember the start in the SR2 years of Duntov and the beautiful failings of a team that wanted, and needed to be world-class. Now, from the status of a also-ran to a ‘juggernaut’ the success has completed this circle of life. Yes, ‘juggernaut’ should be the word of choice in this day of critical, but oh so necessary, marketing. Sincerely, Jim Thykeson

GM’s recent answer to the person who wrote about the Hummer being a gas guzzler was outrageous. The Hummer is a gas guzzler. During WWII there was a slogan that went like this: “When you ride alone, you ride with Hitler,” implying that one should ride-share. Today, the slogan might go like this: “When you drive a Hummer you ride with Osama bin Lauden”. Much of the gas profit goes directly to our enemies in the Mid-East.
