Do people actually like fake wood in interiors ? Otherwise, it’s a stricking vehicule for Buick and GM. I wish GM looked at the possibility of adapting (from Opel) or developping smaller vehicules that are also practical. Looking forward to the coming true hybrid technology.

The Enclave looks like a home run.
I’m 38, and have always liked fake wood in vehicles. Everyone has different tastes though.
My ‘83 LeSabre is full of fake wood, and I’ve always really liked it.

Finally! A Story on the GM Fastlane Blog about a Buick! It’s a beautiful, substantial vehicle… let it be the first of Buick’s renewal! Between 2009 and 2011, LaCrosse on Epsilon II, Lucerne to Zeta RWD, and ___ ? May I suggest a baby Buick brother (a Theta CUV)for the Enclave? And a 2-door (Sigma?) convertible named for the Riviera?

Absolutely Chris!!! As many may recall, Buick was floundering (much as it is today, sales wise) in the late ’50’s and early ’60’s, and it was the Riviera that turned it all around. Every time I see someone driving a Solara, I get sick to my stomach thinking that 40 years ago, they’d be driving a Riv. Let’s hope that it’s on the horizon.

Nice design, real nice….
Hope the interior stays close to the model shown in the video.
As an employee that will take an active role in manufacturing this vehicle,my hopes are high with this design.Retention of current customers as well as conquest sales should add up nicely with this C.U.V.

Congrats to GM and everyone involved on the Enclave! It’s the most stunning SUV you’ve ever produced, and if the build quality turns out to be what you say it is, I think it’s the first real competitor to the Lexus RX300/30/50 SUV that you’ve ever made. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Modern drivetrain with the 3.6 VVT and 6 speed trans is finally happening at the General. I can’t believe it.
Somebody pinch me! This is what will bring Buick back!
Now, lets get that 6 speed trans into the Lucerne pronto, eh?

6 years is a mighty, mighty, mighty long time. I wonder if it was six years of development or six years to pry the money from the bean counters hands. Nevertheless, looking at the vehicle and how close err. true it is, a twin to the show car GM has introduced a world class vehicle along side a world class athlete with a bold and groundbreaking design.
I am here for one reason to make sure GM realizes its full potential and there is so much potential with Buick. It is going in the right direction with the Enclave and Velite.
But…
But if you want to put Buick’s name in the sky, if you want to write GM’s name all over this new millennium, if you want to seal your destiny and leave a legacy that endures for generations. If you want to fix Buick and GM for good then this is what you do.
You take a calculated risk, a leap of faith, shake the foundations of the auto industry and start putting vehicles like the Holden FJ Efigy out. You raise the roof and seating position of Buick’s to the height that they were when Buick was the #1, #2 or #3 top selling brand in the world, you tap some heritage. What does Buick risk but a stodgy reputation? If your down side is near zero and your up side is infinite I would say go for it. The biggest risk is taking no risk at all.
Look Ford did take a risk with the original Taurus and it paid off handsomely, it did not take a risk with the 500 sedan and now it is paying dearly.
These are the kinds of tough decisions that turn good business men and women into legends. Want Buick on top again? Here is what you do, the guiding principal…
Buick is literally raising the luxury family sedan segment to offer incomparable comfort, style and class that was once afforded only to the most exotic European saloons.
Mr. Wagoner please, keep GM off the ropes.

I’ve always liked Buick because of the cool ones in the 60s, 70s and 80s. I hope this means a coupe or a ragtop is coming. The Enclave is freaking beautiful. If you make a convertible that looks like that you’ll be selling thousands of them!

I find it nice that your telling me where the Enclave is being assembled, but I would really like to know where the engines and transmissions are being assembled. Knowing all the information is the determining factor in whether I purchase a vehicle. The site of manufacture of the drivetrain components for the Equinox is one reason I would never purchase one.

I am glad that GM got the Enclave ready for the 2008 model year. When I originally blogged about the vehicle in February 2006, my sources indicated a release date one year later. Best wishes with a certain hit!
