i was pratically rolling on the floor laughing when i read that gm was gonna spend millions of dollars to make a car that drives itself. What's the fun in driving when you have a car that drives itself? LOL.
On the other hand, you are being very sluggish. You have the two-mode hybrid technology, yet you are not putting it into vehicles that count eg. the Hummer(9 mpg), the Lambda crossovers(19mpg). When we talk about 35mpg, we are talking about the combined figure, not the highway figure!!! The 2009 Vue Two Mode Greenline is gonna suppass 30 mpg. But is that enough? NO!!! Even the money losing Aveo gets only 27 mpg combined. And i got all these figures from fueleconomy.org.
And they are only 12 years to 2020. Unless there's substantial reduction in vehicle weight by using more aluminium, i don't see GM can achieve 35 mpg. It's one thing taking about being green. It's another thing to put it into action. It's also one reason why GM is only worth 13.13 billion. And a good reason no ne trusts GM. I am gonna start a personal blog on Google Blogspot to voice my personal opinions soon.
